Seances have nothing to do with witchcraft honey.
A seance can be conducted by any number of people, but you are truly better off not playing with things you don't understand.
Research and learn more if you feel the need, but it's not a great idea to mess with this stuff in the company of a bunch of people who know nothing about it.

seances are part of the spiritualist movement. Allen Kardec a Frenchman held seances to contact the dead. From these sessions he was able to get information about the types of spirits, prayers to contact them, what the other side is like, how to develop mediumship abilities, etc. (You can find his books online) He is "father" of the current spiritualism done today.
Now how many people you need all depends on the type of communication you are attempting. One person communications includes automatic writing, automatic drawing, trance work. All the rest you need a minimum of two people. One to do the work and one to record the outcome. The person work would include spirit boards(can be solo), channeling, mediumship, etc.
If you are truly interested in spirit communication I recommend a book "Buckland's Complete book of Spirit Communication" by Raymond Buckland. Do understand that spirit communication is not part of witchcraft. Witchcraft is about working magic. Relax and have fun!

I think since you don't know how to spell seance', it might be a good idea to hang up the idea. If you wish to become a proper witch, do so, but I would not recommend farting around in the spirtitual realm without proper guidance and knowledge.

A SEANCE requires more than one person. A medium is required to make contact with evil spirits.

Don't go there Angel that is something you don't want to mess with. There are two powers in the world, good and evil and you guessed right that stuff is bad news. It will mess with your head and draw you away from God, that is what Satan loves to do. Give your time and energy to God who alone is worthy. God loves you where Satan will abuse you.
