A centralized government is a form of government in which power is concentrated in a central authority to which local governments are subject. Centralization occurs both geographically and politically.

A centralized government has most of its power and/or authority in one place, unlike the United States, where power is spread out among a lot of people.

it means the decisions of an entire population are governed by one specific agency. For example before the U.S. constitution we had the articles of confederation which gave supreme power to each state and no power to a "central power" with the U.S. constitution the federal govrenement has a signifigant amount of power and each region (state) has a subservient power.So the central government in the U.S. is Washington.
