I consider myself a punk, and prep is like, the opposite of punk. I like alot of punk music, and also ALOT of alternative, but someone i know was telling me that some of the music I like is preppy, I don't think so, but i was wondering, is there such a thing as preppy music, and could you list some examples if there is?

it depends what u mean by Preppy.. preppy like the Gotti kids(Armani, Louis Vuitton, Burberry) u have to listen to 50 cent and hip hop.

wannabe preppy like those $10 abercrombie & $2 hollister shirts, then u listen to Dave Matthew Band or alternative wack.

and theres the other type of preppy , Old money preps,
( Polo, Lilly, Brooks Brothers, and LL Bean.. ) and they listen to everything from Ska to T4 Trance.

and if ur a Lacoste prep (very rare, and lacoste isnt a preppy brand, more of a brand for the intelligent and beautiful people), u listen to good music.. aka.. good music.. u jus gotta be in the know, to know what good music is.

Yes, All American Rejects. Anyone with a name like that, and their popular. I always thought DMB was sort of preppy, but I never really listened to the cds that much. I just knew alot of preppys that listened to him and his band.

pop punk or stereotypical hip-hop, with the occasional Jack Johnson type thrown in, depending on what's popular at the school. Just go ask a kid who's collar is popped, he'll know.
