i would like the answer to this. I continually needed to be acquaintances with my ex because we were at the same time for thus long and it became good being round him notwithstanding if its in basic terms as a buddy. I dont imagine ultimate acquaintances such as your ex is accessible if absolutely one of you is hoping to be more effective than acquaintances. That defeats the entire purpose of being in basic terms acquaintances. If both absolutely one of you're cool with eachother and do not want to pursue a relationship it really is accessible to be acquaintances. A chop up cancels out the closeness 2 human beings once shared because there is damage in contact it really is carried on and a friendship cant live to inform the tale if absolutely one of them is preserving the wear from the breakup

I'm friends with the ones I dated for short periods of time. I'm not on speaking terms with my ex boyfriend of 5 years, we had a really bad break up. I couldn't see myself ever speaking to him again on any level. It would bring back too many feelings/issues that I don't really want to feel again.

ive had two serious relationships in the past... at first this person hated me and it was like really bad but after a while of not seeing him we encoutered again and is all good now, not like best buddies of course but at least we can have a good conversation, and my most recent one... I would wish we would be friends but this person LITERALLY tells me, lovers or nothing... so we're lovers lol .... more than that actually, we can say we are trying one more time, because we are doing the whole dating, calling every night, all that... if nothing happens and we dont go back, I think we could have a friendship MAYBE after a couple of years! emotions are very weird between us.

i think it's important to at least try to maintain some sort of amicable relationship with your ex if there are children involved, even if there is still unresolved feelings or resentment on one part. it took about 12 months before my ex husband and i were really on 'speaking' terms since we divorced. i think it's still possible to maintain a friendship with an ex

I think it depends on the couple or if you have children together. If you have children together, you can't bicker and fight ... for the sake of the kids ... you have to get along. My ex and I are great friends, and if my current b/f were not able to accept this ... he knows what my choice would be. I'm not a jealous person, nor do I care to date anyone who is jealous.

I think it depends on the nature of the relationship. I was good friends with one of my exes (we were together a year and a half) for a while but then he said he didn't want to see or talk to me anymore because of all the "feelings" it invoked.

Hah.

My first ever relationship ended on such a bad note, so much so that 3 years later (that is now), we deleted each other from our lives and we've never talked ever since.

As for the others, we are cordial towards each other.
