EDT = Eastern Daylight Time
EST = Eastern Standard Time (not Daylight Savings)

There's even a website: http://www.time.gov/

It depends on what time zone you live in. The first letter in the abbreviation stands for the time zone, and the second letters are DT, for "daylight time".

For example, if you lived in the Pacific time zone, you could report time as 3:00 PDT (Pacific Daylight Time).
