Please, for those of you saying it is always the person injured fault ... NOT TRUE!
Yes, sometimes people do stupid things and get hurt.
However, many of the serious accidents at disneyland, as well as other amusement parks, occur because of operator error or machenical failure. If you read through the reports referenced above, you will see this.
Also, sometimes it is what one would call a "freak" occurrence, as a four year old on the Raiders of the Lost Ark, the jarring of the ride caused an unknown aneurism to burst. Another woman had a previous neck injury that had healed, and did not realize the severity of the bumpiness on the ride, and would never have thought the ride could kill her, which it did.
I would not have thought of that either, but knowing what I do over the years from these kinds of incidents, I am careful with my spinal problems what I do. In part it's a need for education.
The bottom line though, is, that millions of people visit theme and amusement parks every year with no injuries. Anywhere you go, something can happen. Look at the percentages, not just the incidents. At the same time, do all you can to keep safety ratings going up. After all, the percentage, no matter how low it is, means nothing when it's your loved one being affected.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - A locomotive broke loose from a train on Disneyland's Big Thunder Mountain Railroad attraction Friday, injuring at least 11 people, police said.
Television helicopters showed a triage unit set up near the ride, and one person being wheeled to an ambulance on a stretcher.
The accident occurred at 11:20 a.m., Disneyland spokeswoman Ruthy Flores said.
The condition of the victims was not immediately known. Additional information wasn't immediately available, police Sgt. Rick Martinez said.
The roller coaster takes park visitors on a twisting, turning ride through mineshafts and caverns, past falling rocks and tumbling waterfalls.
Disney officials have not released an official statement at this time.
The Anaheim Police Department currently has no comment, and is referring all inquiries to the Disneyland publicity office.

I remember a while back someone died on Roger Rabbit ride (Toontown), but I can imagine people dying from very fatty foods! I don't know if you've heard, but Disneyland is cutting down fat on foods. I'm so glad. That's a sidenote, by the way.
Some people do stupid things, some people just weren't made for the ride.
Maybe you've heard about the kid who stuck out his foot on Matterhorn (my favorite ride!! =] ) and the camera saw it and everyone had to walk down the mountain. Well, no one died, but that was a stupid thing.

People have died on a few of the rides but it was because they did something stupid not because of the rides. Like the lady that took her 4-yr-old on Terror Tower and he died from shock or something like that. Or the guy sticking his arms out to the side on Thunder Mountain and having one of them lopped off by the tunnel on entry. Obey the safety rules and you will be fine. Don't and it is mother nature practicing natural selection.
