Well, let's start with the Treaty of Paris in 1783 where after the colonists won the Revolutionary war it set the Mississippi River as the western boundary of the colonies. Everything west of that was claimed by the Spanish.
As you noted, the Louisianna purchase in 1803.
Florida in 1819.
Annexation of Texas in 1845.
Oregon Country in 1846.
Mexican Cession in 1848
and the Gasden Purchase in 1853 which consisted of the southern part of Arizona and the SW tip of New Mexico.

british got the land from france and then britain gave it up to the US who then purchased the lousiana purchase from france again and we fought for texas then during the gold rush we made california a state and also hawaii and alaska
