HAHAHA I have this problem (even though my hubbie says that she does like me). About ten minutes before I walked down the aisle at our wedding, she basically picked a fight with me and made me cry...and my family members and friends heard her outside before that telling my husband that he "doesn't have to go through with the marriage if he's not totally sure and that she would more than support him if he didn't go through with it"... So, needless to say, she and I are not best friends. I was VERY mad for a while, but I realized that she is always going to be part of my husband's life and that if I love him, I have to at least tolerate her. So, everytime I see her, I put on a smile and try to make the best of it, that's the only thing I can do.

Personally I would rather light myself on fire, than deal with a mother in law. I had one of those. She was rotten.. Told me kids I did not love them, etc. She was self centered individual, who was a control freak. So here is my theory, U did not marry Her... You married her Son.. So you do not have to try to please her, nothing.. Be cordial, friendly,etc.. However does not mean that hubby has to suck you into everything. The last several yrs I excluded myself from some family gatherings.. I told hubby, you take the kids to see them all.. I am not going, Your mother wants to cut me up to my kids,.. she can kiss it. You don't have to put up with that.. and hubby needs to stand up for you & tell his mother here is the deal & that you will not & do not have to put up with it & that he will not tolerate it either. No one deserves to be treated badly, irregardless of what the relationship may be.

I would tell you to ignore her, but that will only be good for you. I am sure your husband will like for you to have a good relationship with her, so I would try to talk to her. Sometimes mothers are like that because of natural jealousy. try to find out what she likes and get her interested in a conversation. But if you have already done this and it does not work then I would just be out of her way. She will always be there while you are married with your husband, so I would try to get along with her. Good lucK!

Get a dog that has a really shrill loud bark. I done it and it is working great, she doesn't even step foot in my house anymore. It is the most peace I have had in the 12 years I have been married to my husband.

Stuff her. Life is too short to worry about things like this.
Unfortunately, you can choose your partner but not your in-laws.
My sister-in-law is bi*ch to me, you know what I did?

I gave her the exact same treatment.

Don't let anyone make you feel bad, it only brings on depression.
Forget her and move on with your partner, you both have your own life now, you don't need her.
When you have kids, it will be her fault she won't know them.

Kill her with kindness, that is what I do to mine and it drives her crazy. No matter what she says about me to the rest of the family, they just look at her like she is nuts. I just bite my tounge and b**** after she leaves.
