Both clubs are good, but Costco is much better.
I find more "high-end" stuff and more variety. Also more things are there consistantly that I use day to day (supplies, appliances, cloths). I am actually surprised by the huge variety of items.
Actually I was lured away from Sams to Costco by the quality of Costco's fruit, and the fact they sold nice furniture (periodically) about 6 years ago and never regretted the change. In fact I find it hard to find a reason to go to other stores because I can get so much at Costco. Moreover, their return policies are easy to live with and virtually hassle-free, so I don't get stuck with junk. (I keep receipts).
Also, Sam's would insist I give them my street address when I wrote a check, but I am vigilant about giving a PO Box (for privacy reasons) and that annoyed the hell out of me.

I prefer Sam's club. Probably because I have been shopping there for quite a while and am used to it. I also find that the bargains are a little better than Costco. And they have more of a selection.
I guess it is just each individuals preference.

Never been or seen a Costco. We have a place out here called BJ's though and no they don't sell that but it's sure fun to poke fun at those who shop there! However my family uses Sam's club. Probably because it's closer cause they all seem the same to me.

I like Costco better because the quality is better, it's a better value for the money, and they have some really tasty gourmet things as well as staples.

Costco, is better, in quality and price.
Sam's mainly sells Chinese crap, just like Wal-Mart (Wal-mart owns Sam's)

WE DON'T HAVE A COSTCO AND I'VE NEVER BEEN TO ONE. BUT I DO LIKE SAM'S . IT'S ALWAYS AN ADVENTURE THERE. NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL FIND.

Sams Club has cooler stuff than Costco.
Costco's Pizza is good.
I dunno, I guess they cancel each other out.
