I bought this shirt and was wondering if I could/should wear a necklace to dress it up a little for a casual night out.

I don't recommend a necklace with a shirt like that. It would take away from the detail. Maybe try some longer earrings or a bangle of sorts or bracelet in general.
(If you insist on wearing a necklace then definately go for one that's really long.)

Even if I'm a guy, I think I can help ya out. Umm, I could imagine that with a nice long pearl necklace. Silver would be good too.

A long strand of pearls or black beads, perhaps?
As there's this "gathering" at the neck, it won't be wise to use a chain that's too short or too close to the neckline, as it'd make you look "choked".
With the long strand of pearls, twist it twice and arrange it so that one is around the chect area and the other drops to the tummy area.

maybe an arm full of silver bangles?
i dont know about the necklace though
the shirts got all that cute detail stuff at the neckline
you dont wanna draw attention away from that

A neclace wouldn't look right. Necklaces typically work best with open neck shirts. Some bangle bracelets would be perfect.

a long single strand necklace could be good. If you have a high waist, you might also want to try putting a wide shiny (silver, gold, etc) belt around your waist to dress is up a bit.

I would say something simple like a medium length strand of pearls you don't want to much and that's just enough with a nice pair of jeans and heels and hair kind of curly really cute!

try layering on necklaces, or one simple chain or strand of beads with a vest
