They just irritate most viewers anyway, and appeal to the lowest common denominator. I feel insulted every time I see one. Couldn't that money be spend on more pressing social issues or put toward the elimination of debt?

(I know it'll never happen)

Unfortunately, attack ads seem to work. Wouldn't it be great, though, if candidates debated the issues instead of telling lies about character?

yes it should be spent on social issues. that can and will happen if and only if We The People make it happen. Under the current system it takes along time. But it starts with individuals who care to track down those that need to be spoken to ie: local representatives, congressmen and senators. I know it seems like a lot but i have found them, when contacted personally, Very approachable and caring. The hard part is tracking them down.
Don't give up on this democracy it needs people like you who have heart. It will happen and those who have brought this upon this Nation will pay the price. In our lifetime.

Well, we can all dream of an honest politician (I know shouldn't use the words honest and politician in the same sentence) that would take the high road and actually come up with plans to change the crap we have to deal with on a daily basis. But men will never do that when it is easier to throw mud than to stand in it call it like it is and come up with a way to clean it up. Multi-tasking isn't in their genes....oops, now I sound like a female chauvinist...sorry can't help it, sometimes all the crud just gets to me....But I can dream....

I agree with you.

Polls...........what if the polls are just done in a Liberal area by a Liberal Media? Polls are not accurate most of the time , but the press tries to make us think so.

Don't we want God to keep blessing America? If we vote in men and women that don't value God's Word..........then look at what has happened in the past 20 years or so with no prayer in schools, people trying to get God's name Off coins, more acceptance of gays ..even in early grades at schools.

Vote wisely.......the Democrats Favor abortion, gays and keep raising taxes to pay for all their programs. Our children and grandchildren's future depends on how we vote.

This is how politics is played. True leaders tell what they want to do, not what the other guy does bad. The other problem is most politicans do not want to solve problems. See illegal immigration.

LOL!! Don't take this offensively, but all you have to do is check NO on your tax return if you don't want that $3.00 to go to the campaign...

The rest of the money is contributed by individuals or corporations who DO want to spend THEIR money that way...
