faint positive line?

Question

i took a test tonite and i have a faint positive line, does this mean I am pregnant or not? then i was looking into the product it is 4.00 at Dollar General and ranks high on the pregnancy charts anyone know or have experience. trying to coniceve and due to start my period tomorrow

also followed directions very good having pregnancy symptoms

i just wanted to see if i was couldnt wait untill tomorrow and didnt have much money today

ept tests i have read are worse than the dollar store ones

What's the best test to use? This seems to change periodically! Some tests are well-liked and then a "bad batch" comes out, and some tests are known for being duds but then switch manufacturers and redeem themselves. See the HPT Overview section for current comments on each brand.

If you are trying to detect a pregnancy 13 DPO or earlier, you probably want to use a more sensitive brand. Anything that detects 25 mIU/mL of hCG (English: anything that detects a tiny bit of pregnancy hormone) is good for early testing. Surprisingly, cheap tests purchased at dollar stores or on the Internet are often more sensitive and reliable than expensive store brands. HPT's are like soda: very cheap to make, and marked up quite a bit for retail.


The positive line is really faint. Is this okay? An HPT tells you exactly one thing: your urine either has detectable pregnancy hormone in it, or it doesn't. The darkness or lightness of a line doesn't mean much. Generally speaking, a very light line can mean there is a small amount of hCG in your urine, and a very dark line can mean there is a larger amount of hCG in your urine. This is why you may get a faint positive at 10 DPO but a darker positive at 18 DPO. However, this is not always true. Tests are all different, and even tests in the same box may differ in sensitivity. Comparing light/dark lines will just drive you nuts. If you see a line in the "results" window, you're preg!

I'll get to ur question in one sec but gotta say somethin to someone I saw post something very wrong! How are u gonna say her mom doesn't care and didn't raise her right? first of all pretty much all children rebel!!! Sometimes it has nothin to do with the way people were raised! And u have no idea she'll be a single mom and if she is oh well! I know people who have had kids at young ages and are still together like my grandmother for one! 45 years never a single mom so it all depends! Now anyway sweetie.... You probably are.... I just had the same problem about a month ago.... I took 4 tests that all came up with VERY faint positives went to the doc they said no but they use basically the same kind of tests... I didnt believe it so I bought two more which came up positive again so i made another appt for two weeks later and it was a yes from the doc finally!!! so congratulations and I hope everything works out

A faint line is still a line. I would say yes you are pregnant. With all of my pregnancies I never had more than a faint line.

All pregnancy tests are basically the same ept or store brand, don't listen to the people telling you to buy the ept test, if you want to check again just use the store brand again.

Most likely yes. (Congrats!) I had this happen and called the phone number on the package. I had a very odd conversation with a guy with a really strong French accent about that faint line. Basically he said if there is any line at all, you are pregnant.

If it will help you, call the number given in the box. I didn't believe it either! I made the doctor give me a test even after having 3 positive at home tests! :)

YEP your pregnant! my pregnancy was a suprise, (unexpected, but good one) and I was in shock. i took 3 test (from the same store!!!) and all had a faint line. a week later, took a blood test, and yeah, im pregnant! 6 weeks this friday. :) the faint line is just as positive as a dark one. i didn't know that, now I do! :) go get a blood test to write it in stone. with my first pregnancy i had a very faint second line at the Dr's and they asked me to do another test the next morning with my first pee and another line so i was positive and now i have an 11 month old son and i am due in 2 weeks for number 2.
i say go to your Dr with your test result he'll probably say your pregnant

Any line, faint or not means a positive result.
If you want to have more accurate results take another test first thing in the morning with your first urination of the day.

If I were you I would buy an EPT at the pharmacy or grocery store and test in the AM, but they all say a line is a line is a line.

i had the same thing happen...i took 2 ept tests and got the same faint line on both...turned out i was preg and now i have a beautiful 7 week old daughter...hope it all works out 4 u...good luck
