I had a pain in my ear 3 months ago. The physician gave me an antibiotic medicine and so things became alright for 2 weeks after medication. Now, 2 months ago, something was filling my ear, the PCP thought it was wax so he used to flush my ear, he did that many times and then reffered me to a specialist. The specialist says this is a fungus and gave me an anti-fungus medicine. The problem now is that after the specialist put the medicine in my ear for one full-week he said that there is no fungus and you should be alright from now, two days later, I had a pain and went back to the specialist and said for me: "the fugus came back while it shouldn't and I don't know what your problem is, I should send you somewhere else". I am confused now, is this serious thing? what should I do?

I am going through the same thing. It started as a very bad infection of the outer ear and ear drum. My head was hurting, my throat, and my gums. I was on two different antiboitics and pain killers, but my ear was still itching. I currently have ear wicks in my ear. That may help you.

If you have ever used cotton buds or cotton wool in your ears I would ask a specialist to check that some of that is not compacted on your ear drum. It happened to me and it took a specialist to spot it.
