I want to purchase a laptop to use when we are traveling. How do I find out about hooking it up and getting service in our motor home?

Thank you for the input, but I was talking about routers or wireless devices and how do they hook up. Or do I need satellite? There is a WIFI tower on the premises but it is very expensive to use their service

Hey I think that WIFI is great. We traveled to Craig Colorado and the whole town is wireless. Parked and I had instant Internet without setting up a WEP key. The beauty is it was a public connection all over town. Check your RV park some offer WIFI. The new laptops have satellite WIFI and 802.11 WIFI. I used my PSP (Play Station Portable) by Sony and got Internet on it's WIFI.
The PSP is great for surfing because portable it is small about the size of a cell phone. Otherwise use a telephone wire and a 56K modem which all computers have. If possible a 10baseT catagory 5 cable will hook up to the ethernet connection on the computer. It's similar to a phone cord. Just make sure it long enough to get to the utility box.

Get a dc to ac inverter. (Walmart) Plugs into your cig outlet and produces ac for your laptop. 250 watts will do.
