I've had some ligament damage in my ankle before. It's going to take a very long time to heal without surgery. The main thing is, don't do too much with it, when you can walk on it without pain you will be ready to start exercising it. I don't know what part of the foot you hurt, but strengthening the muscles around the injury is very important. That's really all the advice I can give you, there's no miracle cure here. If it's really bothering you, you may want to consider surgery, your recovery time will be much shorter. I elected not to have surgery, it took close to a year to get back to 90%, there is still some very slight instability in my ankle.

buy a arch support for your shoes that will help reduce some of the strain that you put on there by walking on it.

and other than that its either take it lightly and hope it gets better or have surgery. ligaments dont heal very quickly on their own, but if its not torn generally it will. if you do have a tear though, surgery is probably the best bet.

ive heard that shark cartilage may help with the healing process. you can find it in nutritional stores. i dont really know how effective it is, if at all, but thats what ive heard.
