EU was possible, so why not World Union?

If it happens I think the European Union will be the frame work that we will learn from. The reason being that the Union has multiple languages, cultures, customs, and currency which is similar to what a world union would face.

The Bible speaks of this in Revelations, the last chapter of the Bible. There will be signs but it will happen gradually.
Things like a common currency (eg - the Euro) and being able to pay for things without money (smart cards, fingerprint scan, tollway passes) may be the first things we see suggesting a subtle move toward a one-nation world.

I think the only way it could happen is if one nation dominated all the rest. I don't think it's human nature to live in peace and harmony for very long - our history shows that. It's unfortunate, though.

I actually heard someone talking about this the other day. He said the Bible says this will occur. I'd never heard this and he couldn't point out where it said it. Any way, no I don't see this happening.

Yes and the Bible DOES indeed speak of this its in Revelations, read it you may be surprised how close we actually are even though it is to occur gradually.

I don't think so. It probably would not work. People need some kind of order and boundaries. That would eliminate too much and probably decrease freedoms.
