Cool question, as a buff, here goes my list:
In no particular order, may be some spoliers if you never saw these... ( sorry )
Night of the living dead- They're coming to get you barbara.
It's not a horror scene but it sets up the mood and gives me the creeps.
Poltergeist- the tree coming into the room and grabbing the boy.
Candyman- justice has been served at the end with the cheating husband.
Suspiria, basically anything in that still scares the crap out of me.
Maniac- towards the end with the mannequins coming alive.
Halloween- the first time we see him and especially with the piano music * brrrr, gives me chills.*
Amityville Horror- original- the fly scene, sounds tame by todays standards, but when I was growing up, it made me hurl.
Carrie original - the pigs blood that results in her - well, you know.

Jack Nicholson yelling "Here's Johnny!" as he axes his way through a door when going after his wife in The Shining.
The 10 top scary moments are:
1. The Shining (1980) - Jack Nicholson chops through the door and shouts "Here's Johnny!"
2. The Exorcist (1973) - Possessed girl's rotating head and projectile vomit
3. Jaws (1975) - Severed head falls from boat
4. Alien (1979) - Alien bursts out of John Hurt's chest
5. The Blair Witch Project (1999) - Heather Donahue in tears in the woods
6. Ring (1998) - Sadako crawls through the television
7. Halloween (1978) - Serial killer Michael's face appears behind Jamie Lee Curtis in a house full of dead bodies
8. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) - Leatherface's general reign of terror
9. The Omen (1976) - Oscar-winning eerie music score
10. A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984) - First appearance of horror icon Freddy Krueger

I really enjoyed the part in the shining when jack gets through the door and says "heres Johnny" but I really thought the scene in "mind Hunters where the chick from the mummy smokes a cigarette laced with acid is pretty gross"Great movie reminds me of Ghost ship a little bit

FREDDIE CROUGAR'S blades in Nightmare on Elm Street. That sound and his voice still unnerves me. It took me three whole tries to watch that movie when it first came out. I'm 45 now and it still sends a cold chill up my spine. I sincerely believe that is the thing that started my light sleeping habit I still have today, every little thing wakes me, it is horrible. THIS IS WHY TODAY I NEVER, EVER WATCH SCARY MOVIES EVER! OMG! THE EXORCIST (part 1) that was an EVIL, EVIL movie, THAT VOICE AND THE WAY SHE JUST SAT IN THAT BED AND GRINNED, HER EYES AND HER SKIN JUST SPLITTING & HER HEAD TURNING ALL THE WAY AROUND LIKE THAT & ALL THAT GRENN VOMIT. That's enough to scar any kid FOR LIFE...................... OH OH! and Jaws, I was young when the first one came out, and I would not take a bath for a long time or sit on the toilet without long enough to use it. I hate the ocean today though I know it is beautiful, I just can't go in the water. I wish I had never seen that one!

Gotta go with the Hitchcock classic "Rear Window" when Jimmy Stewart is stuck in a wheelchair & the killer was coming to get him. Better than a 100 gore fest horror movies - Hitchcock was the master !

The Shining- when she goes to check his manuscript and sees all he's written on a thousand pages in all different fonts is "All Work and No Play Makes Jack a Dull Boy". The horror on her face realizing her husbands gone off the deep end!

The eye removal in Hostel is nasty! and the shower scene in psycho is classic! But you should rent "Dead Alive" it's got a great scene where a chunk of this ladys face falls off into her soup and she eats it and then this pus squirts out... It's a great movie.
