In the last couple of days my lower stomach makes me want to itch like crazy and it;s only at night. I have tried coccan butter lotion and the oil kind. But it's not working now I look at it it's looking like a rash. has anyone ever had this when they were pregnant. i go to the doctor tomorrow and I hope they can give a good reason and cure for this annoying itching that's is looking like a red but small bumping rash. And also I haven't had sex with my partner so it can't be no STD.

I had a rash like that when i was pregnant with my daughter. Unfortunately, the only thing that I know worked is a steroid medication called prednisone. That is the only thing that helped mine go away. It is quite common for a women to get a rash like that. Be careful, and get it treated ASAP, because mine spread up my belly and down my legs.
Don't scratch!!! That only makes it worse!
There is no OTC lotion that can help you.
Good Luck and get better!!!

I had that I was told it was heat rash (something a lot of pregnant women get) lotion always seems to make it worse, so stay away from it till it goes away. I would put anti itch cream on it, but like with everything make sure it is okay to use during pregnancy. If it says consult your doctor call and ask. That is what they are there for. At my OB's office they always have a doctor on call to answer question, so I would call and get advice. You doctor should have this too, if not call a hospital they can also tell you what is safe.

hey i am 38 weeks also.
an itchy stomach is almost always normal due to your skin being stretched you can get the urge to itch alot and the rash could just be the change in your hormones. we usually only notice things when we are resting or trying to sleep because we aren't being active.
i wouldnt really worry too much just let your Dr know tomorrow and he/she might be able to tell u a good remedy to ease the pain.
good luck for the future with your baby

It is probably the stretch marks, but it could also be a fungal infection. For tonight, until you see your doc tomorrow, you could put vaseline on it to keep it moist. If you have an anti itch cream, you could put that on there and put the vaseline over it. It should help until you find out for sure what it is. Good luck with your baby and God Bless!!!

Normal. Your skin is stretching and irritated. Don't scratch--that's probably what the redness is from Try putting something cold on the itch--like frozen peas to sooth it without medication.

In chinese's view, the red patch is most probably wind. they travel with our system and is harmless. the only irritating thing is that they itch alot. Also, your stretchmark may be working and you do feel itchy . I live in SE Asia and we drink ginger tea to get rid of wind in our system. Work well for us. I itch so badly also at nite but try not to sratch too hard or too much. leave behind very bad marks....

I'm itchy too and I'm 38 weeks as well... I hope it's nothing contagious for you, my coworkers keep telling me to not scratch, it could cause stretch marks. I think it's just the skin stretching b/c the baby is dropping, and I don't scratch it. Have you tried Aveeno lotion?

Its normal!!!! your skin is stretching and thats what causes the itching. You can try some of the cream for stretch marks on it, otherwise just keep it lotioned and try not to scratch it.. you will leave scars if you do.
