Well, I'm not American, so maybe I'm poking my nose in business that has nothing to do with me, but just for the record: No. Obviously there are some things that are just so horrendous that they are outside of morality--in other words, they are crimes, plain and simple. But certain forms of sex between consenting adults? Nobody's business but the adults in question.

I do not believe so. However you raise two separate issues most morality is legislated by the state and local authorities not the US government. The concept of the feds being able to legislate morality is fairly new and never should have been allowed. most who believe it should not be regulated are liberals who are for an expanded role of federal government. And conservatives are typically for a weaker government but for morality legislation. This is why these laws exist everyone has there own agenda for allowing these powers and it creates a perverted view of what the Constitution truly says. We would be much better off if we all recognized that no matter the agenda the consequences reach far beyond your personal opinion or what you believe is right. Many Constitutional issues are abused by both side and in order to get their agenda through they have to accept some portion of the other sides argument. What a tangled web we have woven out of a great Constitution. but in order to go back both sides must recognize int the eyes of true law they are both wrong, but instead they will keep eating away at the Constituition until it is meaning less, if it has any meaning now.

laws should not be enacted on purely moral grounds. They should be in place to protect people from other people and to protect the society in general from individuals...such as speeding thur a school zone. but if it is purely for morality, it is not founded on solid safety issues or rules of reciprocity. so, I in general I would say, making laws on the majority's opinion makes no good sense, and might well be overturned once it is found to be prejudicial or unenforceable. There have been laws like these on the books in some states, but have been largely abandoned due to being inconsistent with the Constitution.

They are mostly "knee jerk" issues by the Christian Right, they want to install these laws and permanently, but sanity and time usually levels things out. It's like they are building sand castles on the beach and eventually, wind and water will equalize things again.

I don't want to answer the "should brother's and sisters marry", but what about 2 "little people" who are very likelely to have "little children", do you want to deny them a full life and protect society from having more "little people"?

They should put Presidents who torture americans to death.
They should congressman and women who know about directed
energy weapons againist citizens to life in prison.
The should abolish CIA and NSA because these are groups of thugs
doing dirty work againist citizens for corporations benefit. These
agencys have no morals other then not getting caught. They follow
no laws and have no morality. There only reason is rationality. They
can justify anything even illegal activity as legal. All the time.

I would have to say no, What an adult does in his or her home should be there own affair. That's what is the problem with our government now. They seem to have forgotten that there job is to protect and defend the constitution. Not tell me how to live my life or who i can or can not live my life with.

Absolutely not! Like who? Which one of our politicians is moral enough to tell the rest of us what to do. our morality is up to ourselves and whatever religious or other teachings we believe in. No one else can make you moral if you do not have it in your heart.. and certainly not anyone in government!

In some ways YES and in others NO.

* Should the government make it illegal to have sex with someone if you have aids and don't tell them? YES
* Should the government tell you no sex before marriage? NO (that decision is on YOUR conscience)
