It would be worth your time to go to college, just to understand the world in a way you didn't prior to expanding on your education. But, to answer your question, your felony conviction means you are not bondable. That means that you can not enter into a position of public trust (such as medicine or law enforcement or jurisprudence); however, if you seek to become a veternarian, your conviction should not be a hinderance to go to graduate school or getting your license.

I wish you all the best.

Veterinarian programs are about the toughest programs to get into. Unless you are a nearly straight A student, you will have a hard time getting into those programs, regardless of whether you have a felony on your record.

On the other hand, there are lots of other good jobs out there.

AND, I think school should be a good experience in and of itself. If you don't feel you are taking anything from college, to me, that is the clearest indicator that it is time to drop out.

You should still be able to be a vet. Your efforts after your conviction to improve yourself should serve you in good stead. Also, know that after time, and after your efforts and your personal growth and rehabilitation, it may be possible to have your felony removed from your record. I don't remember the term for that.

Keep working and keep growing; that's how you will improve your reputation despite your past. I have no doubt that with your dedication you'll make a fine vet. I'd certainly trust you.
