Women are a piece of meat?

Sheik Alhilali (australia's senior Muslim cleric) said to muslim worshipers.
He said woman are a piece of uncovered meat, he said woman who don't dress modestly look like abandoned meat, saying if you leave a piece of uncovered meat outside the animals will come and eat it.
His response to the Muslim boys that were sentenced for the gang rape of 4 aussie girls was,
quote "women dress inappropriately then a Judge without mercy sentences the men to 65 years"
He also said "if a woman stayed in her house, in her bedroom and wore her head dress, adultry and sexual assault would never happen"

Just wondering how either sex feels about these statement along with how the muslim community feel about these statements, as firstly he is saying a woman that is raped brought it on herself and he is also saying men work only on animal instincts and can not control their sexual urges.....

I think it shows just how stuck in the dark ages the Muslims are. Unfortunately, you can stop them saying things like this (in Australia, anyway) but you can't stop them thinking it, because they get it drummed into them 5 times a day.

Each and every Muslim woman who wears a burkha, veil or scarf is contributing to the maintenance of these archaic attitudes and is in effect agreeing with the sheihk. They must show leadership by refusing to obey their men in this regard, and in respect of polygamy.

How does he account for perverts breaking into homes raping children and old people. Men who cannot control their sexual urges are called criminals and need to be imprisoned. This guy sounds like a loose canon. I have heard similar crap from Christian clerics as well. Interesting how he made an analogy referring to these young men as animals..... What a trip.

What else is there to think other than that shi* is absurd. You know what is going on here? The same thing that goes on all the time in societies, even the U.S. - the people in power (the men) want to keep the power. It feels good to have power over people, deny them rights (not for me but for some I guess) so they want to keep it that way. The same way that the U.S. didn't want to give African Americans rights, women rights, and still deny homosexuals their rights.

Obviously he is being absurd. His statements are ridiculous, and his views are not shared by the majority of muslims (at least the ones I know in the U.S.) It's too bad he is a model for muslim boys, that they look up to him. Scary.

A lot of Muslim woman are being raped, so I guess he's wrong...a lot of woman in every country get raped....rape is a form of power, and done by ineffectual men. So I guess it says more about the sad state of his religion, if the only way to prevent harm to their women is to hide them.
