DEFINATELY DONT OVER STRETCH! I over strethed and fractured my growth plate in my hip. Let me just tell you, NOT FUN! When you feel like you are as far down as you can go dont push any farther....just sit in it and when you feel like you're ready go down just a little further!

You need to stretch regularly, but be patient, do not over stretch, stretch and hold the position for awhile, breathe deep, you will be able to stretch more and more each time but practice it regularly, also try Yoga, Yoga positions are the best way to become more flexible!

when I fought for this gym, we had this machine that had two leg rests going out and pads to keep your legs in and it had a hand crank that you bent over to push down. This was more important for the karate students than us boxers, but I used it often to stay limber because of the size of my opponents....And it will stretch you out, even beyond the 180 if you can handle it.
