I am 13 and I haven't heard anyone say I am ugly a lot of girls in my school have said I am cute, and to me I do not think I am ugly I think that I am an all-right looking kid. But when I see myself in pictures, I think I look bad for some reason. And it really bothers me. Why do I think I look ok, but when I see myself in pics I think I look bad? Does anyone else feel like this?

You are your worst critic.
I used to feel that way but I got over it. All the compliments gave me a large ego.

I think a lot of people will say they feel like that. I have gotten a lot of compliments on pictures but I personally never like any of them. I always think I look ugly. I'm not sure what the reason is because I know a lot of VERY attractive people that feel this way. I look at their pic and think *Oh my God, they have to be nuts not to know how pretty/cute they are.*
Who knows...maybe the old saying is just true. "We are all our own worst critic."

I think a lot of people feel that way. You have to remember that a camera only captures one dimension of you when in fact you are multi-dimensional. Unless taken by a professional photographer, the camera rarely captures that part of you that you see when you look at yourself in the mirror, so, relax, you are still cute regardless of what you see in your pictures.

Everyone (well, most people) feel this way - when they see badly taken photos or hear themselves on tape. Probably a result of being subjected to too many models in too many glossy magazines. What you need is to get a GOOD photographer to take some well considered shots of you ... you will get over your image problem in no time !!

It's kind of like when people hate listening to heir own voices. Seeing yourself in pictures is just something that you have to get used to. I also don't like some pictures of myself, but you should understand that people's impressions of you aren't going to be based on one bad picture, so you shouldn't worry about pictures of yourself that you think look bad.

Some people just look really bad in pictures. I don't know why it is, but some people look good in three dimensions and bad in a two dimensional picture.

It's the other way around with some people too. They look great in pictures, but not soo good in person.

Yes, most of us have been there........I never look like me in a picture........I don't see myself as I look..Does that make sense to you? Someone will say," that is a good picture of you!" And I say are you serious? I think I look terrible......
Maybe I will do what a couple of my friends do.........they always look goofy by having their arms up in air, or their pose is always different as is their expressions........And by the way, If the girls think you are cute, then just listen to them....(.don't get a big ego thing going, just be yourself) o.k.? They say that we never see ourselves as others do, and I guess this just proves it.....good luck to you.....

you are used to seeing yourself in the mirror. Pictures are opposite of mirrors (which are actually backwards) so you look different. Try this. Take a picture of yourself and reverse it on the computer. You'll be surprised at how much better you think you look.

Pictures do not show you the way you really look. Some people have a shape to their faces that do not show up on film, even though they are quite attractive in person

I am photographer the picture does not tell everthing unless you get a professional to take your picture the amature photographer would not give you the best pose or correct exposure . So it better to feel good about your self and belive in your self. Please consult an adult to help you over come your fears.

I do. I'm 12 years old. When I got my pictures I was like "Ugh! I look horrible!" I wanted to get retakes, but I don't go to school anymore. I'm in the home-bound program because I'm too sick to go to school. The pictures aren't as important to me anymore. ♥
