I like that jonmcm49 criticized you for not answering these yourself, but he answered it wrong anyway.

ATP provides the energy, but when you say "powerhouse" I assume you're looking for the name of the organelle - the mitochondria.

It is mitochondria because oxydative phosphorylation occures here and in this process energy derived during sequential electron transfer is stored in form of energy rich ATP for further use of cell,hence these ATPs now power virtually ,all biological energy requirements
