I have a friend who has for a long time wanted to be a member of DST. She now lives in NC. She has contact info and none of them have contacted her back, what other avenues do you suggest (regarding finding out about events, etc)? I am a member of ZPB, and I crossed undergrad, so I don't want to assume regarding another organization. In addition, I know the process may be a little different regarding grad. Any help is appreciated.

Hello,

My best suggestion for your friend would be one of two things, to just be patient and wait them out, b/c they may not be having any functions at this time which could be why she has had no response from them. I, like you, belong to another organization (AKA) and do not wish to place my assumption on another sorority, but I do know that in many instances it takes a good deal of time for someone from any given chapter to respond to requests for any specific information regarding activities or membership. I won't even begin to speculate as to the many reasons that could be.

But, one thing that she may want to try would be to contact the graduate advisor of the local undergraduate chapters as undergraduate chapters tend to have more functions on a more regular basis than graduate chapters do since the members of the grad chapters are responsible for overseeing those chapters. That way she may be able to get the information that she is seeking and that may provide her the opportunity that she needs to gain access to the graduate chapter.
