If you remember the movie "Training Day" with Denzel Washington, his character gets killed at the end of the movie and afterwards we see a shot of Jake going home. With all of the controversey that took place that afternoon who would he have had to report to and how do you think he explained the whole story? After all, the 3 wisemen were in on the corruption also and Alonzo's gang wanted to kill Jake.

In a deleted scene included on the DVD the three wise men are in a parked car waiting for Jake at his house (in fact, you can see a car door opening behind Jake in the theatrical version if you look carefully) and ask him what he did with the money. Jake says that he booked it into evidence, saying to the effect, "That's what you would've wanted me to do, right?" and painting them into a corner. Audio of a news broadcast is playing at the close of the film, using Alonzo's own words spoken earlier, indicating that the LAPD did cover it up.
There was talk of production of a sequel a couple of years ago, but I've heard nothing of it since. It would be interesting to see Jake's ongoing efforts to be a good cop.

ture, his gang wanted to kill him, but they still got their share of the money, i dont think they would do anyting bc i dont think they actually liked eachother that much, just wanted money.
3 wise men on the other hand, probably covered their tracks enough to plan for that type of problem. my opinion, good question and great movie.
