I haven't had my period since Sep (started sep 13). me and my significant other have been very active. and now i'm late. i should have started on the 20th this month. i've been spotting some, and I absolutely never spot, and I can pin-point the day I'm supposed to start!
I'm trying not to think about it, I know stress will delay my period - but I've felt sick for the past week and a half, really tired, and a guy friend noticed (surprisingly not me) that my breats looked a bit bigger and I had a "glow".
I think I might possibly be pregnant. Is there anyone who could figure out what day I ovulated? Could I really be preg?
I took a test two days after I was late came out negative. It was a 4 dollar test though, so I'm not so sure if I should trust that result. Has anyone else used cheap tests?
I'm still late though. Does anyone know if there are any Planned Parenthood Clinics in Austin, TX that do Blood tests? I don't have any health insurance but would like a blood test done though

Try another test now. It takes awhile to get your hormone levels up high enough to be detected by home pregnancy tests. I think EPT has the most sensitive tests while some of the store brands require higher levels.

You can guess when you ovulated based on your cycle. It sounds like since day 1 of your last period was on September 13th and you weren't expecting your period until the 20th, that you have long cycles. Is that true? In general, if you have a 28 day cycle, you'll ovulate on day 14. (Day 1 is the 1st day of your period.) If you're on a 28 day cycle, it's possible to be fertile from approximately day 11 to day 18. So...since you have a really long cycle...if you ovulated in the middle of it, you may have been fertile between Sept 27 - Oct 4. Just a guess.

SO, spotting could be a sign of implantation bleeding. Especially if it was only a little bit of blood for a day or so.

I'd try taking another pregnancy test. Try the First Response pregnancy tests. They're not as expensive and I read somewhere that they're a little more sensitive than some other tests. It could take a while for a positive pregnancy test to show up. It took me 2 months to believe a pregnancy test. (Very light lines and many false negative tests.) It's based on the pregnancy hormone in your urine, which it may take a while for those levels to build up.

If I were you, take another test tomorrow and keep testing every 4-5 days (as long as you can stand!) until you get your period. If, after two more weeks you don't have your period or a positive test, go to the doctor.

Hang in there!

Go to plannedparenthood.com, find one by your zip code. They will have the addresses, phone #s and directions to the nearest clinics (I know for sure because I was on there 2 days ago to find out the hours). You can set up an appt to have a urine or blood test done, probably the same day that you contact them. And you can pay cash for any of their services.
Oh yeah, but I did spot (actually, I had light cycles) the first month after I became pregnant w/both of my sons. But it doesn't necessarily mean that you are and I would suggest taking another test in a few days or so, and the cheap ones work fine. I took about 7 tests w/my first pregnancy (he didn't believe the first and brought a bag of them home) and they were all correct. And maybe your breasts are a little swollen because your cycle is late, not because you're pregnant.

Good Luck

According to Babycenter.com ( http://www.babycenter.com/calculators/ovulation/?s_evar2=ovulation%20calculator&s_prop2=ovulation%20calculator ) ovulation chart, you would have been ovulating Sept 24-29. You can use the link and all you have to do is put in the first day of your last period and it will tell you when you are ovulating. As far as the tests go, I dont think that it matters if it is a "cheap test" or an expensive one. They are all usually pretty accurate. But, maybe you did geta faulty one. My advice to you is to get another at home pregnancy test. If you get another negative then chances are, you are not pregnant. If it is positive then it is important to see a doctor right away. I also recommend applying for your states Medicaid program if you are pregnant. Also, if you get another negative and you dont get your period in the next week or so, you should see a doctor then too as it could be some other health concern. Good luck, hope things work out the way you are hoping!

The cost of the test has nothing to do with the quality. I took a test that cost $1 from the Dollar store and it was positive. I followed it with 3 more tests to make sure it was accurate. (Including one of those real expensive digital tests) I was told I'd never be able to get pregnant and here I am at 23 weeks (In my 6th month). My best advice would be to see a doctor. They give you the same type of urine test and if there is any doubt they order more testing from there. They did a urine test on me and then followed it with an exam (To feel the size of my uterus) and then an ultrasound a couple weeks later. Congrats if you are! Babies truly are miracles :)

Your probably pregnant, im 5 months and when i didnt start for like 6 days i took 3 test, 1 came out neg and the others said invalid so i waited about 4 or 5 more days and took another one and it showed up positive. I took the digital kind this time, that seemed to work better for me.

It certainly sounds like you might be pregnant, but of course it is impossible to say if you definitely are or not. I think you should certainly see a doctor or use another home pregnancy test.

If you weren't charting your basal body temperature or using a ferility monitor or opk's, it is impossible to say when you ovulated. The norm is cycle day 14 (which would be Sep. 27 for you), but that doesn't mean it is the cycle day on which you ovulated.

It looks like there are several Planned Parenthoods in Austin and that they offer pregnancy testing and prenatal services. http://www.plannedparenthood.org/ppaustin/

Best of luck, and I hope you get the outcome for which you are hoping.

i would wait about 5 more days for your period matter of fact if you started your period on the 13 then i suggest you wait 28 days. The regular waiting until you start again. If you havent had it yet since its been more than 28 days you should go to the clinic or take a pregnancy test. Remember you should be up for anything possible when you spread them legs.

Good luck

It sounds like you are probably pregnant, but then the neg. test swayed me. I have bought store brand tests before and they were accurate. HOWEVER, if you ovulated late, it may not have been 14 days after conception yet. (That is the point at which home tests detect the hcg hormone in your urine.)

I'm not from texas, but you should be able to google a place near you. Good luck!
