Well, they're not all THAT whacked out, if you consider the relation between mass and spacetime, versus the (very) apparent result that is gravity. Relativity was more or less proven in the observation of the effect the sun's mass has on light near it, which dispelled the need to explain Mercury's orbit with the existence of the mysterious planet Vulcan.
Add a rather large grain of salt to their arguments, and you get an alternative viewpoint.

Ahhh! Another have seen the light!
Welcome to reality brother.
As you have just realized, light is not constant.
The farther the object the farther the light has to travel and the more interaction with gravity, thus changing its spectrum into the red and the illusion it is moving faster than it actually is.
read this article on Doppler effect.

They aren't, actually. This claim or view is the result of a misinterpretation of the observable phenomena of the "Red Shift". The further away a star is the more its spectral components, lines of absorption and emission, are shifted towards the red end. There two possible causes, one of which (big bang) is touted and the other is ignored. To boil it down and make it simple you can think of it like this. Imagine coming out of each star 2 things. Light, pushing out, and gravity, pulling in. Over time and distance the gravity acts on the light, slowing it down. Of course light doesn't slow down, but it offsets that by moving it towards the red

Just to warn you, Roman Soldier is right. Manny and boburns are both fringe wackjobs who parrot ridiculous pseudo scientific claptrap that no one with the sense God gave rocks pays any attention to.

Space expands so the further things get from us, the more space there is expanding between them and us. The more space, the faster they move away so the effect compounds like your interest on your morgage.
