Your cervix will not decrease in dilitation. It will only increase--which is a good thing, meaning you will go into labor and have the baby. But you can also walk around for about 2 weeks with a dialated cervix up to 2-3cm! I know this, because it happened to me, and I am a registered nurse that worked labor and delivery. Is this your first child? If so, then don't even worry about the dialation measurement. Only concentrate on regular, timed contractions, and loss of the mucous plug. I would be getting to the hospital if your contractions are hitting the exact time you expect them to while timing them. That is true labor--not Braxton-Hicks. Hope this helps and good luck with the upcoming baby!

No. I'm 6 months along and I'm already dialated to 1 1/2. You DR should keep a close eye on you.

At your next visit you will either still be 2 cm dilated or more, but it will not return to "not being dilated". You could stay at 2 cm until 40 weeks or you could be more dilated tomorrow, it really depends on the baby. Since you are already at 35 1/2 weeks, I wouldn't worry too much. Good luck.

When I was 37 weeks my cervix was dilated to 2 cm. Once it begins dilating, it will not close back up. But, there is nothing saying that it will dilate further, either. I was at 2 at 40 weeks and went into labor and for the first few hours was still at 2...

i did not dialate in any respect till when I were contained in the early ranges of perplexing artwork for better or less 8 hours. At that aspect they were gentle and hardship-free to regulate so it wasn't that undesirable...i do not elect to scare you with the entire 8 hour aspect!!! it would want to have taken a lengthy time period for it to initiate yet as quickly because it were given going it went extremely quickly!

It's highly unlikely that you'd be less than 2 cm at your next appointment. The only way that'd happen is if the original person doing your examination was wrong (or if the 2nd person doing your examination is wrong). Otherwise, you'll definitely be at least 2+cm next time!

No, I don't think so. I think that happens hormonaly or something after delivery. My aunt walked around 2cm dialated for 3 weeks.
