If you are a soprano, you would be auditioning for Belle or an ensemble part that would understudy her. Prepare to sing all of Belle's songs in case you are asked to sing one. If you choose not to sing from the show, you could sing Ariel's reprise of Part of Your World from Little Mermaid. You could also sing "In my own little corner" from Roger's and Hammerstein's Cinderella. Both are vocally appropriate.

Has anyone indicated that specific songs from that show are necessary for the audition?
An audition is far more about stage presence, ability, and RANGE, than it is about what you might actually have to SING if you're accepted.
Beyond that consider originality,,, but also consider the American Idol auditioners who "THOUGHT" they could make it to the final vote.
Also consider that even in some of it being a love story and drama, it's a novelty piece,,,based primarily on an animated film. Be lighthearted without being comical, enjoy the experience even if you don't get a call back, and do not take rejections as personal attacks.
Good luck.

Any song by Rogers and Hammerstein (Sound of Music, Carousel, The King and I, Oklahoma) or a great soprano song that's a good ballad is "So in Love" from the Cole Porter show "Kiss Me, Kate."

well if you're not planning on singing any from the Beauty and the Beast, I would suggest the songs "Can't take my eyes off of you" which is in the Jersey Boys or "A Spoonful of Sugar" from Mary Poppins...

I would suggest singing a song from the show. "Home" would be a good choice, it's sung by Belle.

The Angela Lansbury part, singing Teapot, should suit your voice.
