Years ago my wife and I studied the Billings Method for birth control. It is a natural method based on the female fertility cycle and can be used to prevent or enhance pregnancy.
The system is really quite simple and hopefully you will find it helpful.
During the monthly cycle the mucus in women changes consistency from a slippery (similar to a raw egg white texture) that can be stretched between two finger tips - to a thick / dryer white-ish (not slippery) gloppy mucus that can not be stretched easily.
Leading up to ovulation the mucus becomes slippery and stretchy (like the raw egg white). This is the time when the sperm can survive for up to 48 hours or more. It is also very easy for the sperm to quickly reach the egg for fertilization.
Keep in mind that the egg survives for about 48 hours. After the egg dies the body chemicals change (estrogen / progesterone balance changes) causing the uterus to slough off the dead egg – this is why all the bleeding during your menstrual cycle. During this period the female mucus get gloppy leading up to the period.
After the period the mucus can be clear a slippery (normal lubrication) but it will not stretch out very far between the finger tips.
Keep in mind that the sperm decides the baby sex and that the male sperms are small and fast while the female sperms are large and slower. What this means is that it may be possible to enhance the chance of a boy or girl depending on sexual timing.
Waiting for the mucus to just start to loose its optimum raw egg white stretchy consistency could make it make it less likely that the male sperms will survive the trip to the egg, and the female sperms being larger and stronger could be more likely to survive and have adequate energy to fertilize the egg.
Having relations when the female mucus is at optimum raw egg white stretchy consistency could enhance the chance of a boy baby because they can slip easily and quickly to the egg.

Get going right now! You should start around day 7, so you're late. Then do it every 2 days for the next 10. Avoid jarring exercise (like jogging).
I hope you're ready for a baby.....
