There is no hygene problem with foreskin, it is not easyer to catch STD's, if your going to catch them, either you are or you are'nt. Some women think foreskin in gross because they dont no any better. But cut men does'nt have much feeling as uncut men. All of the reasons you hear that it should be done are stupid, its mostly just a religion thing, which is wrong to do. Think about how many children lose their penis's or die for circumcision, there is alot and studies and facts have proven it. Alot of women like it when the glans sticks out, but news is it sticks out on uncut when theres an a rection, whats it matter that it dont when there isnt an a rection, its not like ya gonna screw a limp dick anyways. My point is, it's useless and there is no actual facts way it should be done, its very cruel to begin with. And I new someone who had it done at a late age and he said that it doesnt hurt bad to get it done, but he did say that he does has less feeling than he use to. is just usless

Circumcision isn't without any merit whatsoever. There are medical cases where it is warranted, for example painful phimosis and frequent recurring infections or irritations. True, most of the time proper hygiene concerning the foreskin, which is normally very easy, can prevent any of these problems. For some men, however, it doesn't matter what they do.

There are statistics flying in both directions when it comes to STDs and HIV contraction rates. Regardless, most state that the difference isn't significant enough to outweigh the potential risks. HIV has been a hot topic recently, but look to the first two links for something interesting. In essence, simple and correct hygiene is just as effective as circumcision against HIV; however, condoms and other safe sex practices are far more effective still.

Certainly infant circumcision poses far more risks than adult circumcision, and I agree it shouldn't routine. The only person to make the decision to get circumcised is the individual himself, unless medically warranted (which does happen but is rather rare). Don't fix something that's not broken.

About 80% of the world's male population is uncircumcised and the vast majority never seem to have problems, so it can't be bad to be uncircumcised. It's easy to take care of, seriously.

Hey Lucas G, people here may be able to understand you better and make your argument stronger if you just observe elementary rules of grammar and spelling.

Having said this, we should be less judgmental of people and respect their choice as regards circumcision. There are many reasons why people do it - - - religious, customary or cultural, medical or hygienic, aesthetic (appearance), etc. I agree that in this day and age, circumcision is not absolutely a medical or hygienic necessity. If a guy observes proper hygiene, he can prevent smegma from accumulating under his foreskin and thus, prevent the odor associated with it. But who are we to say that smegma and its smell are gross & repulsive? Some people I know like it, some are even sexually turned on by it. As to the sensitivity of the penis issue, there is no known scientific study which concludes that uncut penis is more sensitive than the cut ones. Hence, live & let live. Respect each others' choice on this issue and be happy whether one is uncut or cut. Cheers!

Circumcision is useless and it's cruel. I didn't circumcise my son and I won't to future children even though my husband is. Those who say it's necessary for health/cancer prevention, etc obviously haven't really researched it. No medical organization in the world or in the US recommends routine infant circumcision.
Not one single one. If you wouldn't have your daughters labia removed, why would you remove your sons foreskin?
Here's a video of circumcision of a baby.

It's totally unnecessary. I wish people would stop doing it. I don't see how anyone who loved their child could put them through this.

Interesing answers to this one!!!

No it is NOT useless. It is very useful from a medical standpoint. It is easier to keep clean. It is less likely to get infection (most would be fungal). There is a reduced risk of cancer. Elderly men have problems if they are not circumcised. The foreskin tends to get very hard, and it cannot be pulled back for cleaning. I work in a nursing home, and this is a very con problem. Many of our boys have to have circumcisions done. The hard foreskin can even block the urethra somewhat making urination difficult, and catheter placement difficult as well.

You are right in 98% of men and I really think it is stupid to assume your baby will fall in the 2%.

To me it comes down to a matter of what is visually appealing to each individual. To me I just like the way I look cut that is. I just don't like the way uncuts look. Unhealthy or not.

I totall agree. I'm so glad I wasn't cut and I will never do it to my child. People are stupid for not looking up the real facts.
