For evil to prosper requires only that good men remain silent.

When the company goes broke from embezzlement and you're out looking for work, will you still wonder?

I would report the crime.

First don't confront the person, persons or company. You don't want to create a confrontation. I would definitely report the problem because someone will get hurt, either emotionally or financially. Living in a capitalistic society means you have to have ethical morals and report items. Someone might get ripped off and wouldn't be nice if down the road someone stopped a crime before it affected you, your family or a love one. Crime is a lazy mans way out of working for a living and providing a real service to our economy. These are the real thugs of our society and they need to be reported, so they don't get away with it.
Imagine if you do nothing. Maybe another will see this crime and think they can get away with it, now you have two people doing a crime instead of one.

Any crime should honestly be reported. But there are somethings we look the other way on because we are afraid of the out come of the truth. The truth may hurt, but the lie hurts way worse when the truth finally does come out. You should go with your first instinct.

You are not being clear about what the "crime" is. If it is something that doesn't concern you, then stay out of it. If it is something that will cause you are your family harm, physically or financially, then you should consult with the proper authority before doing something about it. Keep in mind that you way not know all the facts, something that may not look right to you may be perfectly legal. So make sure first before you get yourself in trouble.

IF (and only if) you are fully sure of your facts, please don't hesitate to report it. If this is gossip and hearsay, please track it down and find the truth. If it really is a crime, report it. In many cases you can do so anonymously, if you're afraid of recriminations.

Always report it. You can request they not use your name. Normally they will do that. Never ever confront the criminal. That goes into dangerous territory. That is also why we have Police.

Doing the popular thing is not always right; doing the right thing is not always popular.

Honesty is difficult; that's why it is so valued. Ask the little Jiminy Cricket on your shoulder, that's what he is there for.
