Not full grown, mature koi. If you must bring koi indoors then use a large children's pool and attach a filter to it.

yes, if you are willing to give them away, or build them a pond when they are grown. I have kept koi for years, in tanks. They are one of my favorite fish.
Babies(2 to 4 inches) go in a 55 gallon
as they grow...they get moved to a 125
grow even more; they go outside in a pond.
This is obviously not for everyone. I would say that if you think you must buy one and you have a big aquarium, go for it, as long as you know someone who has a pond that you can give it to when the fish gets too big for your tank.

yes, but they won't be very happy and they are even messier and more active than goldfish, while your fish are growing, get some books and plan to build yourself a pond next spring

If your aquarium is really really big...they're better off in ponds, that's where they belong.
