If you have recovery dics, you should be able to boot from them to recover; otherwise, contact HP for help.
You SHOULD have read the Manual BEFORE trying this!!

TestDisk is the utility that will help you recover that NTFS partition. I did the same as you in error and this nifty program worked for me.

Hey there. Once you go from FAT32 to NTFS you can not go back to FAT32. I'm assuming you're reinstalling Win98? Anywho, you'll need a Windows Startup Disk for which ever version Windows you are installing. If you don't have one, you'll need to get a friend to make you one or get one at www.bootdisk.com Restart with the startup disk in and you'll find the options you need to reinstall windows as ntfs. good luck :-)

Were the recovery programs on that drive? Did you make a backup? You lost all programs on that drive when you reformatted.

if u r telling about data recovery u can use data recovery softwares available on internet where you will be able to recover data even from corrupted harddisk
