If evelution is real, then what is the chance that everything just started to exist. WHy hasn't it happened again. If the sun is 10000000 some years old than why hasn't it burnt up yet. If life is that long, how com the "apes" didn't come up with any inventions. Why haven't we morfed, why haven't we seen anything morph, how can all this happen by . It had to have been planned. By who would that be JESUS CHRIST!!!!!!! deal with the fact that he is the creater and that public school teaches BULLLLLL!

My goodness - you really ought to calm down. I agree with the previous poster that there is no reason that you can not have a strong faith and know that evolution is a fact.

It is actually quite amazing that life occurs - and that is true whether you look from an evolutionary or religious perspective.

Interestingly enough, if you look up things about apes, you will find that they're really pretty cool. Some of them use simple tools for simple tasks (like sticks for getting food). They also communicate with each other, although not exactly like we do (and not as precisely). In fact, scientists have taught a small number of apes to communicate using things like keyboards and sign language- they can actually learn a lot.

Also, you may notice that people do change slowly over time. For example, one change you can actually see is that people are taller now than they were in the middle ages. THis is of course partially due to changes in nutrition and health. Look at buildings built in the middle ages - the doors are much shorter!

You may also know that you have an appendix. THat is the funny little thing in your abdomen that sometimes gets infected when people have appendicitis- ouch! THe appendix is called a vestigial organ - that means it is an organ that has no use today, but was used at some point so we still have it.
Also, did you know that when you are developing into a baby, for a little bit you have a tail? Cool, huh.

One of the important things about evolution is that a main contributor to how fast something can change is the generation time. This is because each new baby (whether it be a "bacteria baby", a dog baby or a human baby) basically has the same genetic material for its whole life (except for changes in a small number of cells - like cancer), so genetic changes are introduced when a new baby is made. So bacteria can evolve much faster because they have a much shorter generation time - the bacteria replicate and divide to make new cells multiple times per day, but people only tend to have a few babies (or none at all) for a short time in life, often between the ages of 20-40. This means that bacteria can evolve to fit in better in a changing environment much faster than people can - and thus we have the mean old antibiotic resistant bacteria that you may have heard about. Because they can evolve much faster, it is easier to actually watch them evolve.

Take time to learn about the subject you oppose, and then perhaps you can make more cogent arguments. Learning about evolution does not mean you have to give up religious beliefs - it is just science!

This is the absolute worst "omg evolution sux" question I've seen on here yet.

At least your peers make a minimal attempt to sound like they're informed.

I suggest a few things: 1) Actually read 2) Actually pay attention in science class 3) Actually read some science books once in a while

It wont sway your opinion, because obviously that's beyond you, but it will allow you to post these questions and sound at least semi-literate

As an earlier poster commented...your beliefs are your own.
But your attention to detail, to facts, is sadly lacking.

The sun has not burned out due to its not being out of fuel.
It is that simple.
Apes have come up with a lot of inventions.
I am typing on one now...or did you not know that humans are apes?
We have seen things evolve, and the fossil record documents a lot of these changes. Look up human evolution, horse evolution and whales...there is a lot of evidence out there if you just look.

As for your religion, I suggest Ken Miller's "Finding Darwin's God". It helps a christian understand how their faith can be reconciled with the science of evolution.

Wow, someone feeling a little threatened by evolution today?

Look, I'm not going to try to convince you to give up your beliefs; I wouldn't want you to do that. However, may I suggest that you find a way to reconcile your beliefs with science? Trust me, its entirely possible to be an ardent Christian and a believer in science simultaneously. Give yourself just an ounce of flexibility, and you'll find that your beliefs will become much stronger for it. I have some good friends that are very religious, one of whom is a Jesuit priest, and they all accept evolution as fact.

On an aside note, try reading about evolution a little more; you may find it a little less threatening when you know something about it. I assure you, it is not the purpose of scientists to destroy religion or religious beliefs!

the sun hasnt burned up yet because it just hasnt, it still has fuel. and evolution isnt something that happens all of a sudden in hundred years. its gradual, not like a pokemon game where when your pokemon reaches a certain point it evolves into the next thing. also look at bacteria and viruses, they change all the time

So, we now see the shot gun approach to overwhelming ignorance. Saying a lot is no guarantor of truth.

When you understand what you are criticizing you make a better argument. Do some research and come back.
