America has always done what was in it's best intrest at the time. Think of all the peacebuilding operations we have succeded in. We helped rebuild germany, South Korea, Japan, and a host of others. For all the "failures" we've had the USA has done alot of good in the world. And at the same time it's not that america screwed up. Not everything goes perfect. The war in Iraq blieve it or not is not going that badly. 2,800 some trooops is not bad for an actual war. While each daeth is a tradegy we have lost many more lives fighting in other wars.
