Check out this book from the library: "10,000 IDEAS for Term Papers, Projects, Reports & Speeches" by Kathryn Lamm. It's very difficult for me to suggest a topic since I do not know what you are interested in. But this book gives many many research paper ideas for different subjects such as Astronomy, Health, Nursing, Religion History etc. Here are a number of research ideas in the book:

- the practice of witchcraft during the Reformation
- Native Americans as ecologists: historical perspectives

How about a mental disorder such as Munchhausen by proxy(where a parent needs attention and injures their child so they can get attention by medical professionals). There is a lot of info on the Internet about it. Or you could do bipolar disorder.

How about the ozone layer. There's tons of info about this and you could easily write 10 pages. You can start off talking about how the ozone gas protects us from UV rays, then talk about what is depleting it and how it is being done. Then you can explain the consequences. Good luck.
