What are blue tears?

I was listening to Good Intentions by Toad the Wet Sprocket and he mentions blue tears. Can anyone tell me what they are

it doesnt necessarily mean anything. probably just saying blue tears because it sounds poetic.

blue can mean sad, actually, now that i think about it.

never heard about it, but I used to know an Italian guy in Detroit (SALE) who played base for a band call Cristal Tear
