Davey writes the lyrics and jade writes most of the music, then the band collaborates for the final product, i think this is important to know that AFI creates there own work and does not have someone else do it for them. I just watched them perform last night in davey's hometown of rochester ny and it was kickass!!! I want to see them again it's so sad it's over =(

Davey writes some of the lyrics. Jade is understood to have written a few as good, so much tremendously the primary and 3rd verses to Spoken Word (hidden monitor on Sing The Sorrow) and "The Chicken Song", a tune the band denies ever writing however which Jade as soon as admitted to writing... In reply on your query, Davey writes just about the entire lyrics.

Davey writes all of the lyrics. The above is untrue. Jade does write a good chunk of the music but the entire band works together to produce the final product.

if you look inside of the inserts of the afi cd's it tells you that davey writes the lyrics.

Jade writes most of the lyrics, and then he and davey revise them, but sometimes davey helps jade write them
