I don't know what's going on...has anyone run across that same problem? The printer heads on the ink tanks are brand new - I should think that would have solved the problem. Thanks for your help...

It flashes 7 times in orange which, according to the manual, it is a "defective Printhead" and needs to be reinstalled, which I did. I got rid of the old tanks and put brand new Canon Ink tanks in (magenta, cyan, black, yellow). It doesnt print anything - not even a blank page.

The printer head itself has gone bad. I had one too and it's cheaper to go for a new one.

There are still some questions here:
1) Does it think it's printing but puts out a clean sheet?
If it does, I would then suspect the print heads.
2) Does it just sit there flashing a light at you?
If it does, I'd suspect somebody has touched the contacts on the cartridge.
3) Did you mean you put in new store bought ink wells?
Run maintenance (clean heads, align heads, etc.) then the "print test page" then the finally troubleshooter.
