My grandmother got my baby this really cool Pack and Play which has a higher changing table than normal and a bassinet. Well little did I know this was going to be his crib since the place where we purchased his baby furniture went bankrupt and we never got any of it. Looking back, I would not buy a crib again. We go away on weekends a lot so it works great, it folds up in a min and what is best, the baby had no problem adjusting because his crib just travels with him!

The best gift I received was a Maya Wrap! I used it from the time he was one week, and I still use it and my little guy is 22 months.

My sister (who had already had her first baby) put together a Mommy survival kit of a bunch of little things that she liked. She fashioned it after Oprah's "Favorite Things" and filled it with really practical little things that she'd figured out were helpful from experience.

I'm putting one together right now for my friend who is having a baby. It's a fun way to help out and share the short cuts I've figured out!

I don't think there was a specific best gift. Every gift that I ever got, was very much appreciated and needed. Not one gift was better than another.

A friend told me about the WIC program!! And I found out that we qualified. It was sooooo wonderful to have them cover most of our formula costs. Not really a gift like most would think but I really appreciated my friend telling me about it. It saved us so much $$$.
