I agree on the Orleans it's the best value in Las Vegas, and one of my favorite places to stay. Check it out at http://www.orleanscasino.com The Orleans will price match any online rate you find...
There are plenty of "cheap" hotels in LV the trick is finding a nice place at a good price...If you'll come back later with more info - such as, the amenities you're looking for and the dates you're going, I will try and help you out

The South Coast is a lovely hotel with huge rooms and low prices. It's only drawback is that it's fairly far from the Strip. On the Strip your best bargains would be Bally's or Excalibur. Also check some of the rooms at places like the Four Queens or the Golden Nugget.

If you can choose the dates you go, I think the best bargain for a quality hotel/casino is the Rio Suites. Incredibly large rooms (they call them suites but that's really not true) and a good casino complex, pool, and great club on the top level. Prices get as low as $49/night -- the hotel manager aggressively discounts the rooms when the hotel isn't busy. It's just off the strip and has free bus shuttles to other major strip casinos every 20 minutes.

The Plaza Hotel and Casino runs a great package deal with room and meals and free slot play if you become a slot club member... ****, just do it because they give you 50 dollars free play and if you win... additional bonus. I used to live in Vegas and I know all the ins and outs of this. The Plaza is a bit older and is located in downtown Vegas... not on the strip, but its a nice place, good service, good food, and great deals... like often times they'll give you coupon books for free meals and drinks with the meals and usually all the breakfasts are free as well.

I just stayed at the Tropicana for $49.95 a night for an upgraded king room. It is right across the street from the Excalibur. It may be a tad dated but it is clean and it is nice. I would stay there in second again.

I would say the Orleans. It's old fashioned and looks kinda weird but it's not too far from the strip and the service was great, Plus the buffet is really tasty. There is also an arcade to send the kids if you wanna gamble. It only cost me and my folks 60 bucks a night for 3 so...

My best bet for a hotel on the strip is at Excalibur... it is a nice place, and it is on the four corners with MGM and NYNY right across the street.
