I've got Dark Side of the Moon on and after all these years, it still blows my mind. It was recorded way back in '73. Unreal.

I had friends that listened to Pink Floyd. I was never really into them. But I started smoking and once I did that, it became more intelligible, if you know what I mean. Comfortably Numb used to be one of my favorites and Dark Side of The Moon is a great album. That was a long time ago when I was a lot younger, smoking weed and living it up. Those days are gone along with Pink Floyd for me. Thnx for bringing back memories though.....

Their music was way ahead of their time. I could not get loud pounding rock music from Zeppelin or Van Halen, but whenever I listen to Pink Floyd, especially The Wall, I'm just blown away. Not only that, but their shows were freakin amazing. Before them, no band had really used lasers they way they did.

they were always ahead of their time... but i guess thats why DSOFM stayed on the charts for so many years. They INVENTED in my humble opinion alot of rock genres that are around today. talk about amazing talent!! truly some of the greatest music of our time! the future generations should be so lucky if they can even come close to floyd's shadow!

They diffinately were, there are bands just now who are close to that kind of "grand" album where you just let it play....

like Death Cab for Cutie
Dave Matthews Band

They were pretty advanced for their time, but lots of older music was in past years....what about the Moody Blues?

To me -no. There might be an okay song or two. But I do not like Plant and Page either---they made my baby cry and kick before and after he was born. Each to their own.
I love Metallica---------gee- their music blows me away!

I'm not sure if they were actually ahead of their time. It is a proven fact that stoners can actually be pretty creative.
