It is possible they should go back to either a 154 game schedule or have more doubleheaders.

Yeah, I think they should go back to 154. When there were only 2 playoff teams from each league, I think that 162 makes more sense, since you want to assure that THE 2 best teams make it, but now, with the extended number of teams in the playoffs, that need is no longer there. Look at STL. They only won 83 games and they are winning the world series. Baseball has become a lot more like basketball and football in that the regular season just doesn't matter as much anymore. It's more about how well you perform in the playoffs.

No. Keep it at 162, but eliminate the division series. Have 2 divisions per league like before and have 7 game ALCS/NLCS.
The way it is now you get teams like the Cardinals and Padres who make the playoffs barely over .500. And strong teams have to go through 3 rounds of playoffs to win the Series and risk getting knocked out by a much inferior opponent.
Fat chance this will happen though.

They should drop the regular season games to 145 or so but add a best of 7 series to all playoff matches.

the world series has only went to november once in the long history of baseball but i think they should lose a few weeks and add a team or two to the playoffs only four teams from each conference makes it hard to make it but then again that makes the season more interesting

YES! The season is way too long and the games don't mean as much when you stretch the season out the way MLB does. The owners in MLB, however, won't agree to dropping games because they'll lose money and revenue. The reason the NFL is so big right now is because every game, every week means something.

No I don't think so, they get paid millions to play100+ games a year and it always comes down to- the last team standing in the end wins it all.
