I've heard of people ( good workers) getting fired ( from regular office jobs) for not being social enough with coworkers. That's some Extrovert BS!! Why isn't it OK to just shut up & get your work done?

The terms introvert and extrovert were originally coined by Carl Jung. Jung stated that no one is ever completely introverted or extroverted accept in cases of extreme disorders. The idea is to achieve an effective balance between the two. Like anything, when someone leans too far one way there is bound to be trouble. The issue that would arise with the world being ruled by introverts is that by nature introverts tend to keep EVERYTHING within them. They take all of the negative issues in life and shove them into the subconsious once there, through coping mechanisms your mind trys to deal with something that it thinks is bad and shameful. Eventually these feelings will come out, good or bad, wanted or unwanted. This is the person who usually gets fed up at work at decides to shoot up the office.

Conversally, extreme extroversion is also a way of dealing with low self esteem and other social issues. These are the loud people who don't know when to be quiet. They step all over people's thoughts, feelings and contributions because they are uncertain about their own. These people are like an elephant in a china shop; they are destroying everything around them but sometimes really can't help themselves.

They best way to deal with these situations if you lean towards the introverted side is to find your comfort zone, how much your willing to share. You don't have to go and gossip by the water cooler but a polite smile and hello as you walk by goes along way. If people still have a problem than it is obviously there own.

That is really a bad reason to fire someone. Whoever did the firing did not have the fiduciary responsibility of profit before politics in mind!

By the way, introverts are the ones that pull the strings. Take the music business fore example. The ones making all the money are the labels, and no one ever sees them. The world only sees the extrovert talent that signed their life away to slave away to their extrovert desires. extroverts in that business get per diem but the introverts are the ones that dole it out! Who's in the Superior position?

I am a huge introvert. I think extroverts are loud and pushy sometimes. I much prefer the peaceful world of the quiet people. :)

I was fired from a job because of the same bullsh*t. When there was gossip and mess going on I would just stay out of it and do my job. I went to work not make "friends", and when you don't participate in childish drama and stupid *** job scandal they say your not social enough. It's sad to see GROWN people act like they are still in high-school.

because people have to interact with other humans! if the world was all introverts i would die of boredom. everyone would be all depressed....i'm sorry you're a good worker to a point where you don't talk to people! but i've been promoted and actually kept a job i wasn't good at it cause i had good people skills and kept a smile on my co-workers faces. you gotta interact with people, you gotta actually keep a happy atmosphere going. i can't stand working with quiet people, i never know what they're really thinkin. they put up walls and hide in their cubicles!
