My friend wants to have sex when she's 14(we are 13 now 8th grade).I think thats a very stupid idea.I think she might want to because her sister did when she was 14 and her sister told her not to do it now to wait. She says she just "wants to get it over with" but I think she's lying. The boy she's planning to do it with isn't a virgin and hasn't been for a year I think. My other friend and I have been trying to think of things to convince her not to do it but I think shes still going to do it regaurdless of what we say.I don't think I really want to be friends with a girl who is acting rather slutty for her age. Also she's been fingered and has done some other "things" if you know what I mean but not sex yet.

What should I do???

You are being a very good, concerned friend to try to convince her otherwise, but unfortunately, she is the one to make that decision, whether it be good or bad. It's out of your control, and you can't make her not do anything. You can either tell her to make sure that when she does have sex, it's for all the right reasons, not to "get it over with" or to be popular, or to get noticed by other boys. Or you can either go to a school nurse or counselor or even a health teacher and explain the situation to them. They might be able to sit down and discuss this with her. Or you can make better friends who share your morals. It's up to you. Good Luck!

Two things in life seem to be true, at least most of the time. 1, people judge you by the type of people you spend your time with. If you spend your time with someone with a "slutty" reputation, it's a fair bet your reputation will be tarnished as well, whether it is fair or not. Consider if having this done to your reputation is worth your friendship. 2, Our beliefs/actions are often influenced by those around us. How strong are you as a person? How able are you to stand by your own personal convictions with a friend doing something so contrary? Are you willing to risk adapting your behaviours to fit her needs (and likely, eventually joining her) to keep her as a friend?

I think you sound very mature, and I think you are already realizing that your friend is on a dangerous path - and one you should not follow. Your friend will make her own choices, and thrive or perish by the consequences ... make your own choices.

Best Regards,
Holly

It might suck but you are judged by the company you keep.. So if she is doing these things then others will think that you do also.

Stay away from trouble, and make sure you tell someone close to you in your family that you're confused........

get help for yourself...you know this is wrong for you, it doesn't matter what is wrong for another.
