Call the attorney used for chapter 13 and ask. If your income has dropped --chances are your payments will drop also.
Do not wait until a court contacts u, ask questions now.
Call the prosecutor, the judge anyone u can think of and ask questions, but esp....call your attorney. It may change to a chapter 7? I do not know the rules, but get answers early so as not to worry. Good luck!

I am a bankruptcy attorney in California. If you do not make the payments and make no effort to to get caught up, the trustee will move for dismissal of the case. If the case is dismissed, it would be as if you had never filed for bankruptcy.
If you make an effort to catch up once you go back to work, the trustee MIGHT be willing to let you catch up over time. Sometimes the judge might allow you to do this.
You can also voluntarily convert the case to a Chapter 7 or make a motion to modify the plan so you payments are more affordable while you are out of work.
You really need to talk to a qualified bankruptcy attorney about your options. There are many reasons that people choose Chapter 13 over Chapter 7, so you need to be fully informed before making any decisions.

1st call your attorney that handled your bankruptcy. Then find out if you are eligible for Assistence in your state, you know for emergency financial help. All these resources should be available either thru the State or Federal government. Check your States Home Page and surf around to see what's available. Do you qualify for SS disabilty benefits while you are recovering? Look for things like that. Good luck, I know how hard it is to make ends meet, especially under tragic circumstances! All the best!

You have to call them and be very upfront with them, or they can discharge the order and allow all creditors to resume garnishments!
This happened to a woman in my employment. She had to quit and find a new identity and an under the table kind of job in order to get away from the harrassment that ensued!
Once you fail to meet the terms of the bankruptcy decree - they may never consider your case again.

Discuss with your attorney once you get behind, they will try and void your bankruptcy on cause.
You may want to consider changing it over to a chapter 7.
Talk to your attorney
