Your ex wife must agree to it. If she doesn't agree it's not going to happen. This is a very tricky legal situation. You'll need a lawyer to make sure every paper is properly filed.

Hi Richard! Signing over your parental rights is a touchy thing, so I really doubt you will find those documents on the internet. If you did, it would have to be recorded in a court of law to become legal. I know attorneys can be expensive, but it would be in your best interest to at least contact one.

Also, please make sure this is what you want, and is in the best interest of the child or children. It is a decision that is pretty well set in stone once it is done. Signing over your children means you are signing ALL rights away. You will no longer have any legal ties to them.

Good luck to you, your children, and ex wife. I hope you all are blessed.

I don't know all the ins and outs of Texas law, but since you are currently going through a divorce (as I assume from your question), child custody should be a part of the proceedings. If you and your wife agree that she should have sole custody of your children, the lawyer taking care of your case will have that drawn up in the proceedings. If this happens, you most likely will be financially responsible for your children until they are both of age, the amount set by how much income you have. And visitation will also be set up in the proceedings. Good luck!

You need to get a lawyer. They can have everything done legal so there will be no problem. For what ever reason you have for doing this I am sure it is for the best interest of the children.

just be aware that signing over rights to the child does not excuse you from child support (assuming you are paying it now..) ONLY the judge can change THAT!
contact Father's rights org. in you area for Texas law if you can't afford a lawyer
Are we to assume that you don't want to be in the kids life at all? Don't count on verbal agreements ex wives make that you can still see your kids. You will have no recourse if she changes her mind.. and they do!
