I need the names of the philosophers and what "group" they would be in...like Sophists, Idealists, monists, realists, ect... PLEASE..this info is for a research paper. The topic is going to be "Solipsism vs. ______". I need to find what word is the opposite of Solipsism and what philosphers agreed solipsism is absurd.

OK, I think I shall tell you the truth now. All of this time we have been lying to you, conforming you into believing you are the only one in the world who does actually exist, but this is simply not true. Sorry pal, but is rather opposite. The only ones who really exist are us, for you are going to die and we are to linger on. Sorry to disappoint you, but if you think about this for a while you will probably realize I am telling you the truth. Do not ever dare again to doubt about us or else we shall stop thinking you... and you know what that means, do you not?

John Searle. The premier analytical philosopher of this age. Realist. Jerry Fodor. A cognitive philosopher. Start here.

PS Searle is an easy read; not so Fodor

My suggestion is to do the research on your own. Google the categories and see if there are any philosophers listed in those categories. Good luck!

Let's put our minds together and come alive to create a new theory rather than worry about names of other philosophers.
